Content is the king, and rightly so. But no one ever said that badly written, poorly composed, and fluff-filled articles will rule the world. Your content needs to be precise, crisp, and without any fillers, for it to make waves. This is why content marketing came into being. It promotes the notion of writing excellent text with crisp headlines that generate higher traffic.
Similarly, digital marketing and all such activities require precision and the ability to take risks.
Now, it might sound overwhelming, but some people have nailed it down to the T. This is why we decided to ask marketing experts what their top tips are for newbies!
Let’s see what they have to say.
Top Tips For Newbies

Veronica Gentili | Anthony Gaenzle | Daniel Snow | Marie Nakhle | Dorien Morin Van Dam |
Nikola Roza
Content Marketer and SEO Expert
Fahad: Tips for newbies who want to pursue their career in content marketing?
Nikola: Several tips:
First, don’t fall into the trap of using AI tools to create blog content. They don’t work as the marketing for them says they do. It takes a long time to learn to use them properly. They produce mediocre content. And finally, it’s machine-generated content that Google can easily recognize as they probably have the same technology.
Second, don’t fall into the trap of demanding absolute quality from whatever you publish. Content marketing is inescapably connected with SEO, and SEO takes time, even when done right. It is far better to target a keyword with a mediocre article today, wait a month for Google to rank it where they will, examine the potential, and then choose to pursue or not.
Then to invest a month into a perfect post that never even cracks the 10th page of Google because Google, for some reason, doesn’t like your site for that keyword. That is a winning blogging strategy because you’re acting based on complex data instead of your gut feeling or what you’d like to rank for.

Dennis Yu
CEO at Blitz Metrics
Muneeb: What would be your advice for someone who wants to follow the same career path as you?
Dennis: The paths from 30 years ago don’t exist today and vice versa. But generally, there are MORE opportunities today than ever because there are more people on the internet, more tools available, and it’s easier to reach mentors, customers, and team members.
Today, you’re just one tweet away from someone who could change your life.

Johannes Larsson
Founder at Financer
Muneeb: What’s the one thing that you like most about affiliate marketing? And what opportunities can a newbie explore to get started?
Johannes: I love that affiliate marketing is so flexible and that whether your interests are fashion, travel, finance, or something completely different, you can be welcomed into the affiliate marketing industry and start making money. It’s really open to everybody, and the only barrier is how hard you’re willing to work.

Mehvish Patel
Content Creator at Zen Media
Fahad: What would your advice be for someone thinking of following the same career path as you?
Mehvish: My advice would be to enjoy it and don’t be afraid!
Writing sounds very daunting to many people, but remember that there is so much more that goes into it. Words hold meaning, and it is your job to give them the meaning that resonates with the audience.
Have trust in yourself and your abilities!

Gabriela Cardoza
Personal and Corporate Brand Consultant
Muneeb: What would be your tips for newbies who want to pursue Digital Media Marketing as their career?
Gabriela: My advice for up-and-coming marketers and brand strategists would be to commit to lifelong learning. Communications as a field are constantly changing. Audiences evolve. Technology evolves. Tactics evolve.
You must be willing to experiment, ask questions, search for answers, and take risks. Always remain curious and teachable.

Veronica Gentili
Facebook Ads Expert
Muneeb: Can you share some critical points for newbies who want to become Facebook Marketers? Can you recommend some resources to them?
Veronica: I suggest that they never stop studying and remain up to date. The key to success in this job is always to stay updated daily. I recommend following great content sources like AdEspresso and Hootsuite blog, Agorapulse blog, Social Media Examiner, and Social Media Today.

Anthony Gaenzle
Founder at Anthony Gaenzle Marketing
Muneeb: Many newbies want to pursue Social Media Marketing as their career. Can you share some key points for them? Can you recommend some resources to them?
Anthony: Learn from the pros. Don’t go into the social media game thinking you know everything just because you’ve been posting selfies on Instagram since high school doesn’t mean you understand how to use the medium for marketing a brand. Follow top social media accounts in your niche and look at what they do.
There are so many amazing people doing social media the right way and killing it. Check out people like Gary Vaynerchuk, Neil Patel, Jay Baer, or Lisa Sicard at Inspire To Thrive. They’ve all built solid followings with a severe amount of engagement, which is key to social media growth. Then look inside your specific niche or industry and follow the top people there as well.
Never go it alone. Reach out and try to build relationships with the influencers in your industry. Many will be willing to help, and you can learn so much from them to apply it to your efforts.

Daniel Snow
CEO and Founder at The Snow Agency
Muneeb: What would be your advice for newcomers who want to start their marketing agency?
Daniel: You have to learn how to break through the noise.
To illustrate this, here’s a real-life example for one of our clients, Hollywood Hair Bar.
They had been building their customer and fan base organically for a year without doing any paid ads. She came to our agency to help turn her extensive social media fan base into customers and build a sustainable customer acquisition method, so she didn’t have to rely on influencers entirely. Moreover, the website was far below industry standards for conversion rate due to the on-site user experience.
We installed a Facebook pixel on the website and made custom website audiences and lookalikes based on events triggered on the website. In our first week of testing, we saw EXPLOSIVE results, and we were able to quickly identify our ideal market and what content & ad copy resonated best with them.
These insights allowed us to curate appropriate content to portray the unique business value and website adjustments required for improving the conversion rate.

Marie Nakhle
E-Commerce and Social Media Expert
Muneeb: What will be your suggestion for newbies who want to pursue social media as their career?
Marie: If you are not passionate about it, then you will not be successful in it. That surely applies to any job, but particularly for people on social media, they will have to be committed, spend lots of time online, and always stay up to date with new channels, new trends, new features, etc. It’s a very fast-moving industry, and if you’re not up to the speed, you will be quickly left behind.

Dorien Morin Van Dam
Community Manager at Social Media Pro
Muneeb: Being an experienced Social Media expert, what will be your tips for newbies who want to pursue their career as Social Media marketers?
Dorien: Network. Network. Network.
My current clients and opportunities can be traced back to being connected to the right people, meeting them at the right time, and fostering real relationships. The future of social media is private. These conversations happen in messages, video chats, and private meetings, and once the world opens back up, at conferences. In this industry, it is about who you know as much as what you know.
So… get to know people in the industry. Listen, read, learn and ask questions. Be eager to learn, connect and give. Once you move forward, don’t forget to reach back and help others move up with you!
Don’t ever stop learning! Learn about new features, tools, new platforms, new systems. Create time in your schedule to learn more about leadership, business, and mindset as well.
