We had a chance to invite Esther Birungi for a chat session on Twitter, where she shared pragmatic insights and benefits of special media and how women can tap into this.
She is a women and girl child activist as well as a menstrual health champion who founded Birungi Charities. This organization focuses on Sexual reproductive health and rights, education, economic empowerment, leadership, and governance.
If you missed out on the session, here is a recap:

Sm can be used a connecting tool for women to unite as one voice for the betterment of all women.— Sir David K Numembi (@SirDavidKN) May 3, 2023

There are quite a number of factors to consider when choosing a platform suitable for your goals,first you need to know your target market and what platforms they use the most,once you have this set,it will be easy for you to know what platforms to focus on.

Q4. What strategies have you used to build a strong, engaged social media following?

Well first off is self discipline,we all know the internet is forever,whatever you say will be seen and read by generations to come,it is important for us to choose carefully what we post without necessarily shutting down our freedom of speech or other rights.

Q5. What common mistakes do women make when using social media, and how can they avoid them?
@EstherBirungi4 #ChampsTalk pic.twitter.com/mCLNvPDK2h
— Social Champ (@SocialChampSays) May 3, 2023
I think the most common mistake women make is thinking that social media is “safe.” SM isn’t safe for women,day in day out we are constantly dragged,harassed,shamed and bullied for things as little as how we look or what we wear.

Q6. What resources or tools would you recommend to women who want to learn more about how to tap into the benefits of social media?
@EstherBirungi4 #ChampsTalk pic.twitter.com/bqZ3BziqgF
— Social Champ (@SocialChampSays) May 3, 2023
Well for starters I’d recommend taking classes to teach you all you need to know about social media and how you can manage it & tap into its benefits. @SocialChampSays would be a perfect tool to help with this.
We need to be well educated in order to make informed decisions.— Sir David K Numembi (@SirDavidKN) May 3, 2023
