Janet

Janet Machuka

A Journalist, Social Media Marketing Strategist, and Trainer

linkedin-icon

Janet Machuka is a journalist, social media marketing strategist, and trainer. She has at least 6 years of experience in the digital space.

She started her digital-related career in late 2016, and the spontaneity of the digital spaces fascinated her. For her, every day is a learning experience in the digital space.

She started as a social media influencer and later social media manager. Over the years, she has given her all to learn from people, trends, and innovations that happen in digital spaces.

In 2018, she launched a business in the digital marketing agency Sparks Corporates, and over the years, they have trained corporates and individuals on digital marketing. Her team has grown from two people to 12, and every year is a chance to work with more as they grow.

The beauty of the digital and innovation space is that women have greater chances to become whoever they want to be. But to make that work as a woman, you need to be open to learning, collaborating, and building yourself day by day. Continue adding value to yourself. Sometimes you might think no one is watching, but let me assure you that people are, and those who do that are the ones with opportunities.

Another big lesson I have learned is to be ready to offer help to others. People will remember you if you helped them, made them feel heard, and showed them the way. So many young people ask her how they can join the digital marketing space. Her team has never failed to offer weekly conversations on digital marketing on Twitter Spaces through her community, #AfricaTweetChat. Simply build others; they will refer you to opportunities and sing your name wherever they go.
