Algospeak
[al-goh-speek]
Algospeak, also known as algorithm speak, is a method where individuals substitute words or phrases that could violate community guidelines with coded language or emojis.
For instance, on platforms like TikTok, instead of using explicit terms, users might employ innocuous words or symbols like ‘killed’ for ‘unalive’ or “sparkle” for ‘smoke.’ By communicating in algospeak, users can sidestep automated content moderation systems, ensuring their posts remain visible and avoid removal or flagging.
Example
Jeffery Epstein didn’t unalive himself.
